DONATIONS REQUESTED

If you have baby items that you would be able to donate to send to Anapra, Mexico please post a comment and let me know.

A friend of ours' 15 year old daughter is having a baby in May. She will need baby necessities such as lightweight onesies, diapers, wipes, soap, shampoo, bottles, etc.

If you need information about Anapra, check out some pictures at www.rossandkate.smugmug.com and www.babyschultz.smugmug.com. It is a colonia of Juarez, across the border from El Paso, and poverty stricken to say the least.

We will be collecting up items and sending them down in increments so they can be taken across the border. Thanks for your help.

Food Pantries

Your local food pantries are most likely running low so if you have the means, or really, even if you don't, you should take some food to your local pantry. Continued high prices for gas, energy, and food items (even the basics such as milk, eggs and now bread) is making it difficult for many to eat this winter.

A great organization to get involved with in St Louis is Operation Food Search. "Operation Food Search distributes more than 1.5 million pounds of perishable and non-perishable food and household items to 250 food pantries and soup kitchens who offer emergency hunger-relief to nearly 100,000 poor people every single month. Nearly half the recipients are children."

And as a personal pet peeve, please don't bring in the cans of food that have been in your pantry for years because no one in their right mind wants to eat it. Bring in items that you like to eat, many even some food items that would be a splurge for you... Just a thought.
