ATLAS: Light (recording strings for Sleeping at Last)

Over the past month I've had the amazing opportunity of recording strings for 2 brand new Sleeping at Last tunes!  Ryan is quite possibly the most humble and genuine artist I've ever worked with.  I got to know Ryan this past fall on tour with him and Jars of Clay.  It was a blast and I consider it an honor to call him a friend!

Here's the 2 songs I recorded strings on.  They are part of his newest EP, ATLAS: LIGHT.

There's A Sound (the story)

With the release of my new album, VEIL, I wanted to share with you each track + lyrics + a brief story (behind the lyrics).

Today, I'll share with you track #1, There's A Sound.

It's a song about stillness and solitude.  It's a song about the power of quiet.  Sometimes things can be loudest when the environment and distractions are completely still.  It's those experiences I've had, that led to me writing There's A Sound.
