LIVE at CICERO'S (9/22)

This coming Saturday night (9/22), I'll be playing LIVE AT CICERO'S (in the Delmar Loop)!  This will be my last show before the big tour with Jars of Clay and Sleeping at Last, so I hope you'll come out for a very interactive show!  I've got 2 new songs I'll be playing for the very first time, live in concert; plus i'll be joined by Harry Hinrichs and Dear Genre!

The setlist is looking something like this:
Doubt Brings Hope
War on War
Words Do Things
The River Child
Blinded My Eyes
{surprise cover}
*Veil
*To The River

...you don't want to miss it!

Peace,
Ross

Scorpion Girl w/ Dear Genre

Hey folks,

I spent yesterday in the studio with Dear Genre recording tracks for his new song, Scorpion Girl.  Its a cool summer tune that's gonna get some major traction!  We spent the bulk of the day on drums, telecaster, and bass.  I've got a day recording synth and mix-downs ahead of me, and then we'll have ourselves a song!

If you're an artist looking for a comfortable, professional, and reasonably priced ($250 - $750 p/song) studio to record your next project, contact me at SiloTreeSTUDIO: ross@rosschristopher.com

Producer

Being a producer is fun work! I get to work with artists and bands on a creative level that's a lot different than doing your own recording project.

I get to interpret, refine, and recreate.

This past year I produced Dear Genre's album, and its been stirring quite a buzz here in St Louis. Here's a recent video from LO-FI STL. Enjoy!

Peace,
Ross

St Louis Beacon Nod...

The St. Louis Beacon ran a piece about the most recent artist/band I produced, Dear Genre.

"...Combining Cataldo's words and melodies with the production skills of Ross Christopher, "Atmosphere" is the culmination of nine months of studio work, all meant to bring a certain shine to the upbeat, diverse tunes that Cataldo puts out at a reasonably prolific rate..."

Happy Prez-Day!

2010 Projects & French Toast

This past year has been studio project after studio project. I have absolutely LOVED each and every one; working with artists to create fresh music that is pushing each of their limits respectively, and making really beautiful and thoughtful art.

I have learned a TON about the recording process and how to create and manipulate the sounds I hear in my head (i'm not totally nuts). Each record has increased in artistry and I can honestly say that each one I have wrapped, I have been able to say it was the best studio work i've done to date.

It's honed my playing skills (i did most of the instrumental and programming work), engineering and mixing abilities, but most of all my listening. 'Twas a fun fun year and I'm humbled to have been able to work with everyone!

Here they are in order...

ALSO...Cora asked me last night for french toast. Here's what was waiting for her this morning when she woke up.

She was a bit overwhelmed.

Ross

Wrapping Dear Genre's Album & BBQ

I just got back from Ardent Records (Memphis, TN) where I was mastering Dear Genre's upcoming album. I've been producing and engineering Dear Genre's new album for about the past 7-8 months and I really think we've created something special! Here's a quick video clip from the mastering suite:

Look for the album later this Fall - it will be sure to please!

Before I sign out, I must mention the BBQ...how can I not? It would be a grave and semi-mortal sin! Thursday night we hit this great place on Beal, and enjoyed some BBQ and blues. Friday afternoon we went to the BBQ Shop on Madison, where I was blown away with the eats....oh so good!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Peace,
Ross

The Most Creative Time of My Life

This might be the most crazy/creative season of my life (thus far)...

Within the next few months, I will have completed several albums (both as artist & producer), plus several other creative projects I'm working on.

Stuff to look for this Fall:

Brendan Bradley
(i produced his album - singer/songwriter album)

Dear Genre
(i produced his album - indie/rock album)

The Lost Narrative
(i produced & performed - indie/folk/electronic album)

Ross Christopher
(i produced & performed - alt-pop/rock album)

Stay cool...
