BEST OF 2012 {MUSIC}

Happy twenty-thirteen!

I thought it'd be fun (and part obligatory) to start 2013 by looking back at the best of 2012.  Today we'll look at music...only with the restriction that I had to have purchased a physical copy of the album.  That being said, here's my list (in no particular order):

TOP 10 Albums of the Decade

Ok, so i've done my TOP 5 albums of 2010...but now comes the REAL list!

Here's my TOP 10 of the 2000's (in no particular order - that task was just too tough for me to do a job I could live with).

These are the albums I was in love with and playing constantly in college, post-college, and yesterday. They remain mainstays in my rotations, and have influenced me a TON! I'm sure if you listen close enough, you'll hear nods and references to these in my own albums and recordings.

Top 5 Albums of 2010

This week seems to be the week everyone in the blog-world is putting forth their TOP 5's & 10's of 2010.

2010 was a good one for interesting and thought provoking music. A couple days ago I looked at all of the albums and new artists I added to my shelves, and took on the task to narrow my collection to just 5 stand-outs.

Today, my TOP 5 Albums of the past year. Drum roll if you'd like...

#1...Sigh No More by Mumford & Sons...
if you like gritty acoustic guitars, awesome harmonies,
roots rock, and banjo, then these guys will BLOW YOUR MIND!

#2...Broken Bells...
(Danger Mouse and James Mercer,
the lead vocalist and guitarist for The Shins.)
Just some real tastiness here!

#3...Achilles Heel by Pedro the Lion...
this album is a few years old,
but i've recently had it on repeat...
